Dr. Boonyong Wongwanich, the third-generation heir of British Dispensary Co., Ltd. (Snake Brand), widely known for “Snake Brand Prickly Heat Powder,” a co-founder of the cancer treatment building “Suan–Permpoon Wongwanich” at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, and the founder of the Young Buddhists Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage, once left a letter to Mr. Luanchai Wongwanich, the current owner of Jirung, with a simple yet profound message:

“Use this land for the greatest possible benefit.”

In the worldly sense, business growth and profitability are unavoidable necessities. Yet that was not the true meaning behind those words. “Benefit,” in this context, meant using this land to help fellow human beings — in body, mind, and spirit.

This philosophy has long been the guiding inspiration for Mr. Luanchai, especially after the Tom Yum Kung economic crisis, when he unexpectedly awoke one day burdened with nearly two billion baht in debt. The immense stress led to acute heart disease, yet through the strength of body, mind, and spirit, he persevered, overcame the challenges, and gradually restored his health.

The merging of the predecessors’ vision with life experience gave rise to the aspiration for everyone to live “jirung — sustainably and meaningfully.” With this strong intention, Jirung Health Village was established on over 50 rai of land.

For more than 20 years, we have walked the path of the health and wellness industry, among the first in Thailand to recognize that holistic health would play a vital role in elevating the quality of life in modern society.

In 2024, following the COVID-19 crisis that deeply affected both the physical and mental health of Thai people, we introduced Jirung Wellness — a wellness destination located in the heart of Mae Rim District, Chiang Mai, surrounded by mountains, forest, and a serene emerald-green lake.

For over two decades, Jirung Health Village has been a trusted place for rest and health care. Today, as we step forward into Jirung Wellness, we respond to a deeper level of well-being, while preserving the heart of what we have always been: care delivered with warmth, sincerity, and a sense of human connection.
